Makeup for Problematic Skin

Before

After

Not all people are blessed with flawless skin. Most of us, yes including me, have our share of occasional skin blemishes. There are times wherein they appear during the days that we least expect them. Luckily, makeup can help us look better especially if we need to be at our best.

Should you have blemish attacks before your special day, i suggest you do the following:

1. Keep your skin moisturized. Squeaky clean skin will produce more oil and oily skin is prone to breakouts. Preferably use a lightweight, oil free moisturizer.
2. Keep your skin matte. Shy away from shimmers because eventually your skin would oil up and you don't want to look like a disco ball do you?
3. Hydrate yourself to help flush out the toxins in your body.
4. Keep your blotting paper or powder ready. Don't rub it against the skin. Gently pat in on oily surfaces as the need occurs.
5. Use a green corrector. Green neutralizes redness.
6. Use an oil free foundation. As much as possible, let's lessen the oil on our face.
7. Use a primer. Oil control primers help keep the oils at bay. Just make sure that you check your sensitivity with silicone first to avoid aggravating your current skin situation.

Trial Makeup: Vanessa Acero

before

after

I met Vanessa during the bridal fair. She's a sweetheart. She was spontaneous and was a delight to speak with.

She wanted to have a very natural look so I opted for neutral eyes and rosey colored blush and lips. False eyelashes and white eyeliner made her eyes a little bigger.

Vanessa was very happy with the look and she  even gave me a hug and blogged about it. I was very happy with the gesture because not all clients openly express their appreciation. Vanessa was an exception.

Favorite Angle

I conducted a free professional makeup workshop for ADP employees earlier today. There were 80 registrants and the response was overwhelming! Abi was one of my models. She was the first person I did makeup for in the office and we have been friends ever since.

AG was my mentee in the office. She's very beautiful. No wonder she was chosen to be an icon (muse) for our sportsfest. I volunteered to do her hair and makeup

Paying It Forward

Aside from being a make-up artist, I used to be a Senior Executive Trainer for a BPO company for the longest time.

Currently,  I work as a New Hire Mentor for ADP Philippines.

I love ADP. They really put premium on their people. They give their employees what they deserve. They acknowledge their people's talents and remunerate them accordingly.

I never had to worry again about delayed salaries nor salary disputes nor bell -curved appraisals. They offered subsidized gym membership and they even paid for my three HMO dependents.

ADP even sent me to the United States for a two week training. Of all the good things ADP has given me for the past year, I feel that it's high time to give back:

In observance of Breast Cancer awareness month, I'll be giving a free Professional Make-up Artist Workshop to ADP employees on October 27.  I am really excited because I will do two things I love the most - training and make-up.

Should you want to pursue a career with ADP, feel free to send your resumes to carl.capellan@adp.com
