Hair Practice 5

First Variation:

Second Variation:

I still need to make my creations less messy. Moreover, I also need to make sure that the bobby pins would be less visible moving forward.

It's really a good thing that my sister gave me Sabel (the mannequin's name) on loan. It gave me renewed confidence and interest in hairstyling :)

Urban Decay Naked Palette

my virgin was chipped. sad :(

Finally. After months of waiting, I finally received the much coveted UD Naked Palette.

I even went to Singapore just to get this from Sephora but my attempt was futile. Thankfully, I found an angel in Kriss, the proprietor of French Macaroons Boutique. Ordering with Kriss is a breeze. She's nice and her customer service is superb. She even went out of her way to personally ensure that I received my palette on time :)

I just find it weird that Virgin was chipped and some of the shades looked already swatched. But overall i'm still satisfied.

messy back part hehe:)

My sister went to Wella Hairdressing School last month. To further improve her skills, she decided to buy a mannequin head with 90% human hair.

I had the head on loan and since i have a lot of time to spare, I decided to practice my hair dressing skills and perfect my bobby pin technique. Here's my take on Audrey Hepburn's do. I know it's not perfect but I am proud of the result :)

Here's my Lizzy. I've got it on sale. I saved 40% off :)

Trying the Korean look

I've been hooked on Korean look lately. Yeah I'm a late bloomer and I must say, it made me appreciate the wonders of eye lining more.

Korean make-up in my honest opinion is about fresh, dewy, flawless skin. It emphasizes on the eyes. What I appreciate the most is that they tend to make it look as simple as possible - meaning minimal contouring in the face and the eyes. The look may look simple but believe me it takes a lot of steps to make it appear such.

My sister wanted a Korean look and here's my take on it.

On face:

Revlon Custom Creation in Medium
Fashion 21 powder foundation with papaya shade #2
Smashbox blush/highlighter duo in Cast/Crew

On eyes:
4u2 Classic Palette (camel shade for the lid up to the crease)
Lancome quad palette (highlight)
Fanny Serrano gel eyeliner
Maybelline volumizing mascara
Fashion 21 white eyeliner
MAC Girlboy brow set

On lips:
MAC Peachstock
Aido lipstick #6

My Mom through the years (Mother's Day Special)

1985. My first birthday

1994. My sister's christening and my early signs of fabulosity :)

1991. Kindergarten Graduation. 80's hairstyle still a hit in the early 90's

1996. Elementary graduation. Little Black Dress of her own design. Classic!

1999. 2nd Year High School. She designed this ensemble

2000. My brother's elementary graduation. Slim in silver. Rockin' a red lip :)

2001. High School Graduation. Long before color blocking was a hit!

2001. High School Graduation. Loved that slit.

2003. With my sister

2010. My sister's high school graduation. I did their makeup :)

My mom has always been my idol. I got my penchant for makeup from her.

Since Mother's Day is just around the corner, let me share with you my beautiful mom - her beauty and fashion looks through the years.

Mom, my love for you is beyond words. I am glad that you're aging gracefully. May you have more years to your life and life to your years.

Happy Mother's Day! :)
